According to a couple of sources, the iPhone 5 might actually be released a little earlier this year than expected. Japanese accessories makers apparently got word from Apple that an official release of the next general smartphone will take place end of September 2012.

According to a French blog site, the highly anticipated iPhone 5 featuring a larger screen and a 19-pin dock connector will be released on Friday, September 21, 2012.

Citing a source within China’s third largest accessory maker, App4phone.fr claims that Apple has released a few scant details to accessory makers, including a target date in late September.

It could be true. Last year, Apple released the iPhone 4S on October 14, 2011, and while usually Apple tends to go by what they’ve done in the past, September 21st is close enough to early-mid October that there are any number of reasons why Apple might want to get out the next iPhone a little bit earlier: for example, to get it in more hands by Christmas.

If the September 21st date pans out, that would imply that Apple will officially unveil the iPhone 5 ten days earlier, as they did with the iPhone 4S. Would Apple really announce a new iPhone on the anniversary of September 11th though? I doubt it, but don’t think this is a dealbreaker: Apple could easily push the announcement a day earlier or a day later if they’re feeling like a 9/11 iPhone announcement would be in bad taste.

Keep your eyes peeled and ears to the ground.

2 Chainz’s upcoming album, Based On A T.R.U. Story is taking more and more shape. After unveiling the official artwork of the tune a couple of weeks ago, the ATL native now unleashes his collaboration with Kanye West, titled “Birthday Song,” in its full streaming glory. The track, which is also available on iTunes now, will further nourish the rumors if the artist, formerly known as Tity Boi, has indeed joined the G.O.O.D. Music roster. Based On A T.R.U. Story is due August 14.

Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music Collective has one of the strongest line-ups in today’s rap game and therefore we are not surprised that Complex Magazine gave them their upcoming August/September 2012 issue cover. The cover features Kanye, Kid Cudi, Common, Pusha T, Big Sean, John Legend, 2 Chainz, and Q-Tip, which was captured by Nabil, a frequent creative collaborator of Kanye West.

G.O.O.D. Music’s debut album Cruel Summer is dropping on September 7, 2012, so timing for this cover was perfect. The issue hits newsstands on August 7th, exactly one month ahead of the album.

Art comes in many forms, with several artists using money as a medium to express their thoughts. Evan Wondolowski has shredded US currency to compile these ultra realistic portraits of famous faces, consisting of Notorious B.I.G., Benjamin Franklin, and Stephen Colbert. All of the subjects have attributed to the culture of money in their own way, thus making them relevant for this Currency Collage series. Thinly sliced Federal Reserve Notes are placed strategically over a collage of newspaper articles, forming an intricate collage.
